Company overview

We are a professional driving school with socially conscious aims. Our main role is to provide high quality driving tuition for a wide range of students from all backgrounds and with a variety of needs.

At Driving Equality, community support is valued over corporate gain. Our charitable initiatives provide free tuition for those who need it most and our social media channels offer free and engaging driving tips to all. As a business we pride ourselves on being open and transparent in our practices and carry out our duty of care with the upmost professionalism.

In time we hope to provide positive and quantifiable change to the driving space, removing entry barriers for everyone.

How to qualify

Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) must pass the 3 qualifying tests set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). Once you have passed your “Part 2” you can apply for your trainee licence, which will enable you to work as a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI). At this stage you can charge for lessons and gain teaching experience for the final test. The tests are:

Why choose us?

At Driving Equality our training deal provides a minimum of 50 hours of tuition for our students. This is not only targeted at meeting the DVSA requirements, but to also ensure we make you comfortable in your new role.

A change in careers can be difficult to navigate, especially when it involves being self-employed. This is why we make sure to cover the following subjects along your training:

  • Self-Employment

  • Time Management

  • Establishing Boundaries

  • Financial Literacy

  • Record-Keeping

  • Communication Skills

Your requirements

Joining our team as a trainee will require you to sign an exclusive contract. This restricts you from joining other franchises for the period of 1 year after gaining your ADI badge. There is no upfront cost for our training package, payment is only due after you fully qualify and choose to leave our franchise. This stands at £2000.*

We require you to provide your own dual-controlled vehicle for this role. If you do not meet this criteria, we can assist in fitting dual controls in your current car. We can also provide advice on purchasing or leasing a suitable vehicle.

*If you have any past penalty points, disqualifications and/or convictions we retain the right to make the payment payable upfront.
